of the Third meeting of the Working Group on Legal Matters of the delegations of the Government of the Slovak Republic and the Government of the Republic of Hungary

on the implementation of the Judgement of the International Court of Justice

in the case concerning the Gabèíkovo - Nagymaros Project

 

1.   The delegation of the Slovak Republic, led by Mr. Drahoslav Štefánek, and the delegation of the Republic of Hungary, led by Dr. Marcel Szabó, held negotiations in Bratislava on 14 February 2002 on the issues concerning the mandate of the Working Group on Legal Matters.

 2.   The delegations have discussed the proposal of 11 February 2002 (Annex 1) concerning the mandate and the working plan of the Working Group and have decided to continue the discussion on these issues at the next meeting of the Working Group.

 3.   The delegation of the Slovak Republic will transmit to the delegation of the Republic of Hungary its written position concerning the suggested amendments to the proposal of 11 February 2002 by 15 March 2002.

 4.   The parties have agreed that the next meeting of the Working Group will be held in Budapest at the end of March. The Heads of delegations will agree upon the exact date.
