Agreed Minutes

On the Second meeting of the Working Group for Legal Matters of the delegations of the Government of the Slovak Republic 

and the Government of the Republic of Hungary on the implementation of the Judgement of the International Court of Justice 

in the case concerning the Gabčíkovo - Nagymaros Project

 

1.      The delegation of the Republic of Hungary, led by Mr. Marcel Szabó, and the delegation of the Slovak Republic led by Mr. Drahoslav Štefánek, held negotiations in Bratislava on 5 December 2001.

 

2.      Both delegations continued to present their views on the mandate of the Working Group and have decided to continue the consideration of these issues at the next meeting of the Working Group.

 

3.      The delegations exchanged their preliminary views on the Slovak proposal and position of 30. November 2001 concerning the mandate of the Working Group for Legal Matters, which is enclosed to these Minutes.

 

4.      The delegation of the Republic of Hungary will transmit to the delegation of the Slovak Republic its written position concerning the issues of the mandate before the next meeting of the Working Group.

 

5.     The Parties have agreed that the next meeting of the Working Group will be held in Bratislava at the end of January. The exact date will be agreed upon by the Heads of delegations.
